Antique or Vintage akasuke or pigeon blood Pair of Japanese Meiji Ginbari Cloisonne Vases (silver foil wrapped around a metal body) signed top and bottom. We believe they are Kumeno Teitaro and date from the late 19th century. This pair of "Ginbari" Japanese Cloisonne vase each measure six and one half inches high. These are a beautiful deep red with a lovely leaf and vine design. The photographs show some reflection from the outside light but this pair is in Mint condition they are just hard to photograph.The top and bottom are silver

Large Antique Satsuma vase, the features on this "Satsuma vase" use of gold and/or silver highlights in relief. This vase is decorated with Samurai warriors. The white cranes around the neck of the vase symbolize longevity. The dogs are called "shishi". They are the little guardians of the palaces,in particular, they guard the concubines and the jewels. They symbolize loyalty. They are playful, and are often depicted with a ball beneath one paw, as the one on your lid is shown. This antique Japanese vase dates to about 1900. 56 by 34 inches.

Antique Japanese Hand Carved turtle Inro Ojime Netsuke. The "turtle" inro measures 5 inches long and is three and one quarter inches wide. The inro is in 3 pieces, or tiers as known. The ojime is a hand carved turtle, as well, the netsuke is a hand carved turtle. This antique inro dates from the Meiji period. Unsigned, attributed to Tadakazu (Chuichi).The ojime measures three quarter of an inch by half an inch and the netsuke measures 1 and three quarter inches by 1 and three eighths inches. An Inro is a small, multi-tiered box that is hung from an Obi sashi along with a netsuke and an ojime, a small device used for tightening the sash. This inro has the most beautiful hand worn mellow surface. Excellent condition. The cord has been replaced but the rest is all original. Just in from an Essex CT estate.

Late 19th century Antique Japanese Satsuma porcelain earthenware tea set. 6 inch high teapot, 4 inch high covered sugar bowl, 3 1/2 inch high creamer, 12 cups, 12 saucers. This Satsuma tea set has No chips or cracks, some pieces lightly tea stained. Beautiful bird and chrysanthemum hand painted decoration highlighted with gold. Dragon cup handles traditionally dispel evil.
